Biography

An established teacher of fine arts for more than twenty years, Rayne Tunley taught painting in the Visual Arts program and the Classical Animation program at Sheridan College and also taught fine arts at Sir Sanford Flemming College, the Okanagan Summer School of the Arts, and Max the Mutt Animation School. Rayne very much influences the students’ approach in understanding drawing, composition, colour and painting skills, and actively encourages the development of their own personal style, technique and direction

Through her own partnered animation company, Rayne contributed to the creation of many cartoons while in the industry, including Redwall, Rescue Heroes, Freaky Stories, Tales from the Cryptkeeper, Ned’s Newt and Bob and Margaret. Twisted Tots, a short animated film, aired on Bravo! Television, showcases her watercolour paintings in movement.

Rayne has exhibited her work nationally and internationally with her work in private collections, including Teleglobe Canada and the Diploma Collection of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. Rayne’s internationally-accredited professional experience, standards of excellence and commitment to her students offer a high quality education experience.

Rayne is an active Associate and Instructor with the Art Portfolio Workshops since 1986 with tours to more than ten countries. She is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC), and has won major national awards.
